It continued to rain goals in the Massy Under-18 School Football Tournament

The goals flowed as freely at the Queen’s College Ground on Thursday as the second round of the Massy Distribution Under-18 football tournament group stage reached a clinical conclusion.

On a day defined by clinical finishing, St Joseph’s High provided the definitive headline, dismantling The Bishops’ High School with a staggering 15-0 victory.

Joel Stephens proved impossible to contain, scoring five goals in the 10th, 15th, 16th, 25th, and 30th minutes.

He was well supported by Laurel George and Akeel Salcedo, both of whom registered four goals apiece in the rout.

Last year’s runners-up, Chase’s Academic Foundation, showed they remain serious contenders for the $300,000 grand prize as they dispatched Westminster Secondary 9-0, led by a clinical hat-trick from Mark Glasgow.

Additionally, Three Miles Secondary saw off Mackenzie High 5-2, thanks largely to a LeBron Mendonca treble, and Santa Rosa Secondary signalled their intent with two massive wins across the recent fixtures, including a 12-0 demolition of Brickdam Secondary and a 7-0 victory over West Demerara.

On a day defined by clinical finishing, St Joseph’s High provided the definitive headline, dismantling The Bishops’ High School with a staggering 15-0 victory.

More so, East Ruimveldt dominated Anna Regina 6-0, with Josiah Norton claiming a hat-trick of his own.

While some found the net with ease, defending champions Dolphin Secondary find their title defence in a precarious position. After a disappointing opening round, they were held to a 3-3 draw by a resilient Belladrum Secondary.

Despite a brace from Collin David, Dolphin could not shake off Belladrum, who relied on goals from Deadrian McKenzie, Malachi Collins, and Joel Ross to ensure the points were shared.

The action returns to Thomas Lands this weekend as the third round gets underway from 10:30h.
