As COVID-19 vaccination “blue books” become increasingly necessary to access services, Health Minister Dr. Frank Anthony Wednesday said that a digital vaccination card is under consideration.

The Minister revealed this while responding to a question from the News Room at the sidelines of an event on Wednesday.

“We are working to digitalise our records right now and we have a few options that we are looking at right now on how we can do this,” the Health Minister stated.

Some government ministries and agencies are now demanding to see a vaccination card. Those whoa re not vaccinated will have to make an appointment.

Previously, the Minister said that Guyana was engaging the government of India on using its COVID-19 vaccination software known as Co-WIN.

This, he said, would facilitate the country’s tracking efforts in real-time and also allow health officials to understand trends and patterns.
